Wow, such arrogance from Invitae management regarding reducing cash burn, lol. If anything, dialing back expenses to Invitae's magnitude is hard, very hard. This requires a culture change. And culture change is one thing that can topple a company if not done right.
I don't believe Invitae's management sentiments on their ability to reduce cash burn are empty words. As I described in my part 1 piece - nearly half of their operating expense is towards R&D and acquisition costs. Their COGS are actually quite decent (and are continuously declining), especially for their mature products
